Terms and Conditions
Version 1.1 | Last updated: May 2026
Welcome to the Oracle of Place website. By accessing or using this site, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.
About This Website
This site is managed by Rebecca Burns as part of the Oracle of Place, a PhD research project at the University of Worcester. The site shares information about the project and provides a way for people to register an expression of interest in taking part in research exploring how residents of Kington experience, remember, and make meaning from local places.
Research Participation
This website provides information about the research and allows you to register an expression of interest in taking part. It is not used to collect research data. Research participation begins only when you have been provided with the Participant Information Sheet (PDF) and Consent Form (PDF) and have agreed to take part in an interview.
Participation is entirely voluntary and open to adults aged 18 or over with a personal connection to Kington.
Before taking part, please read the Participant Information Sheet (PDF), which explains what participation involves, how your contribution will be used, and your rights. All participation is governed by the informed consent process described in that document.
If you submit an expression of interest through this website, your contact details will be used only to respond to your enquiry and, if you decide to proceed, to arrange an interview. Submitting an expression of interest does not commit you to taking part.
Any use of material from your interview in public-facing project outputs, such as the project guidebook or related materials, will only take place with your separate, explicit approval, obtained after you have had the opportunity to review the specific material. Your preferences regarding attribution and anonymity will always be respected.
You may withdraw from the research at any time before the withdrawal deadline, as explained in the Participant Information Sheet (PDF), by contacting Rebecca Burns directly here.
For full details of how your personal data is handled, please read our Privacy Policy.
